Sonic first appeared in June, 1991 in his new game, Sonic the Hedgehog for Sega Genesis. Another same version of this game has also appeared for Sega Game Gear in December, 1991.
Later in November next year (1992), SonicTeam released yet another series called Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for the Genesis. This time, the new character Tails was introduced but you couldn't play with him. A version of this game was released in October, 1992.
In the year 1993, that year can be called a real, big year for Sega. Sega has released a lot of Sonic games that made Sonic fans happy. Sonic the Hedgehog Spinball by Sega Technical Institute, is released for the Genesis again. This pinball game is released for Sega Game Gear in August, 1994. In June, Sonic the Hedgehog Arcade was released for Japan arcades while in September, it's released in the US and European arcades.
In September, Sonic the Hedgehog CD was released in Japan for Sega Mega CD. In 25th of October, Sonic the Hedgehog Chaos was released for Sega Master System. In the November, Sonic the Hedgehog Chaos for the Game Gear and Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine for Sega Genesis wasreleased.
In 1994, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 for Genesis was released, introducing another new character, Knuckles while in March, Sonic Drift was released for the Game Gear. Sonic the Hedgehog Gameworld was released for Sega Pico in August while in September, Tails and the Music Maker was released for Sega Pico.
Sonic & Knuckles for Sega Genesis, a fourth game which has 2 characters, Sonic and Knuckles was released in October. Sonic & Tails 2 and Sonic the Hedgehog Trible Trouble was released in November. Sonic Drift 2 and Tails' Sky Patrol for Sega Game Gear was released in March and April respectively.
Knuckles Chaotix, a cool game and many new characters available for Sega Genesis 32X was released in April. Tails makes its second solo game, Tails Adventure for Game Gear was released in September while Sonic Labyrinth was released in October.
In June 1996, Sonic the Fighters was released for the Japanese arcades while in November, Sonic 3D Blast for Genesis and Sonic Schoolhouse for the PC was released. G Sonic was released in 13th of December for Sega Game Gear.
Back in the 14th of February, 1997, Sonic & Knuckles Collection and Sonic the Hedgehog: Screen Saver was released forthe PC. Sonic Jam, a fun 3D game for Sega Saturn was released in June while Sonic R for Sega Saturn was released in November.
The most historical year, 1998, Sonic R for the PC was released in November. And of course, Sonic Adventure for the greatest console, Sega Dreamcast was released at last on December 23rd in Japan. Whoever can forget that? Introducing the year 1999, Sonic Adventure was released in the US on 9th of September while Sonic Adventure International was released on the same day in Japan.
